Arunachal Pradesh mountaineer Anshu Jamsenpa recently scripted history by becoming the first Indian woman to scale Mount Everest for the fourth time.

Jamsenpa, who is a mother of two, started her expedition on May 13 and reached the highest peak of the world on Tuesday morning to unfurl the national flag.

Besides Jamsenpa, 17 other climbers also made it to the top of Mt Everest on Tuesday morning.

With the feat, she also became the first woman in the world to climb the Everest four times.

Lavishing praise on Jamsenpa on achieving the same, Prasar Bharti wrote on their official Twitter account, "Congratulations Anshu ! Arunachal's #AnshuJamsenpa, scripted history by becoming first Indian woman to scale Mt Everest for the 4th time."

Earlier, Jamsenpa had scaled the Mount Everest twice within 10 days in May 2011 before again climbing the highest peak on May 18 in 2013.

With her previous expeditions, she already held the record of being the only woman in the world to climb the top of the world's tallest peak twice in a single season.
