Anand Mahindra, the chairman of Mahindra Group, on Monday, revealed the company's plans of reviving the BSA brand through development of an all-new classic motorcycle. According to the company, the development of such motorcycle is already under process.

In an interesting Twitter post, Anand Mahindra shared an old BSA motorcycle print, specially created for Christmas. With this post, he subtly announced that the company is already working on such a motorcycle. “We’re sorry you’ve missed out on your favorite ride for all these years, Santa...We’re working on getting it back for you...A shiny new one, but with all the character of your old steed...” he twitted.

The eye-catching old BSA advertisement showed Santa Claus riding a new BSA bike. A dialogue box pointing at Santa in the ad said: “I have retired my reindeer and sold my sleigh, I get around quicker by BSA.”

While not revealing any other details of this upcoming BSA motorcycle, Mahindra's post gives the impression that the bike would be placed in the modern classic category competing with the likes of BMW, Ducati, Norton, Royal Enfield, and Triumph. This new launch will also mark the entry of the company in a segment, where it has no presence so far.

In October 2016, Mahindra & Mahindra announced the acquisition of BSA – a British Motorcycle brand for Rs 28 crore. As per the market speculations, the new BSA bike will be a global-specification model of the company which will be rolled-out in the countries like the US, UK, and Italy. This speculation gains ground from the company's statement issued last year, in which it stated that the new BSA bike would not be made in India.
