Villain: Mohanlal, B Unnikrishnan film bags clean 'U' certificate, confirmed for October 27 release

One of the most awaited Malayalam films of the year, Mohanlal starrer Villain has completed its censorship process on Friday. Directed by B Unnikrishnan, the action thriller is the maiden Malayalam production venture of Rockline Venkatesh, the maker of Rajinikanth's Lingaa and Salman Khan blockbuster Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Villain stars Mohanlal in the titular role of a retired police officer, Mathew Manjooran. Manju Warrier portrays the role of his wife in the film.

The Central Board Of Film Certification has cleared the censorship process of Villain a few minutes ago. And much to the delight of Lalettan fans, the film has bagged a clean 'U' without any cuts. The duration of the film has been revealed as 2 hour and 17 minute long. After the censorship process, the makers have officially announced the release date.

B Unnikrishnan took to his Facebook page to share the update:

"Villain is certified with a clean U by the CBFC screening committee. Villain is coming to theatres on 27th October 2017".

Villain also marks the Malayalam debut of Tamil actors Vishal and Hansika and Telugu stars Raashi Khanna and Srikanth.
