Here is a sad news for all the fans of Telugu actor Venkatesh! The actor's upcoming film, Guru, which was scheduled to hit the screens on Republic weekend has been postponed. Guru is an official remake of Sudha Kongara Prasad's bilingual film titled Irudhi Suttru in Tamil and Saala Khadoos in Hindi.

Though the film's shooting has been wrapped up in December 2016, the post-production works are yet-to-be-done and this has forced the makers to postpone the film.

Guru tells the story of a boxing coach who trains a roadside fish selling girl and makes her a boxing champion. Venkatesh portrays the role of boxing coach done by Madhavan in its original while Ritika Singh will reprise her role in the Telugu remake as well.

The makers are now planning to release Guru in February.

Meanwhile, the change of Guru's release date has worked in Suriya's Cingam 3 favor as the action-entertainer will now get a solo release on 26 January. The Telugu dubbed version of Cingam 3 too slated to be released in maximum screens across the Telangana states. Cingam 3
