Superstar Vijay's action film Theri has fared well at the Tamil Box Office so far, raking in Rs 21 crore in just two days since its release on 15 April, a trade analyst said.

"In just two days in Tamil Nadu, Theri has approximately minted Rs 21 crore. It was expected to collect more, but the opening numbers were affected since it has not released in a few screens in Chengalpet area in Tamil Nadu," trade analyst Trinath told IANS.

Theri, directed by Atlee, features Vijay in a dual role - as a police officer and a doting father.

"Going by the positive word-of-mouth, the film is expected to do very good business during the weekend. It could easily collect over Rs 40 crore," he said.

The film is also doing well overseas, According to the film's distributor for North America, CineGalaxy Inc, Theri has collected $3,90,000 in two days - the highest collections for a non-Rajinikanth starrer.
