Mahesh Babu's much awaited film SPYder has opened on a shocking note at the Telugu Box Office. Directed by AR Murugadoss, the film was expected to rake in more than Rs. 35 crore on its opening day. But SPYder fails to meet expectations from trade and has taken one of the worst collections for a superstar film.

On its opening day SPYder has minted Rs. 23 crore across the Telugu speaking states. Be it Andhra Pradesh, Nizam or Ceeded, the Mahesh Babu starrer has recorded poor collections throughout the opening day. Even Pawan Kalyan's recent disaster Katamarayudu had grossed Rs. 28 crore on its opening day.

Below are the area-wise day 1 collections of SPYder

Andhra Pradesh - Rs. 15 crore
Nizam - Rs. 6 crore
Ceeded - Rs. 2 crore

Grand Total - 23 crore
