Tamil actor Thalapathy Vijay's Mersal has set another top record at the Tamil Nadu Box Office. On its 11th theatrical day, Mersal has crossed the coveted Rs. 100 crore mark from 'Tamil Nadu' state alone, which is a very rare feat to achieve. It has to be noted only two films have managed to hit the century mark so far at the Tamil Nadu Box Office: the 2010 Rajinikanth - Shankar film Enthiran: The Robot and the April release, SS Rajamouli's all-time blockbuster Baahubali: The Conclusion.
And much to the delight of Thalapathy fans, Mersal also emerged as the fastest Rs. 100 crore grosser in Tamil Nadu by surpassing Baahubali 2. The Prabhas starrer took 17-theatrical days to cross the century mark in Tamil Nadu.
As per early trends, Mersal had a rock steady second weekend as well. At the iconic multiplex in Chennai 'Rohini Silver Screens', the Vijay starrer had already crossed the lifetime collections of Enthiran and is now only next to Baahubali 2. Also, Mersal have every chances to go past the Rs. 10 crore mark from Chennai city alone.
Directed by Atlee and produced by Sri Thenandal Films, Mersal starred the Tamil superstar in triple roles.
