Tamil Nadu Box Office: Remo off to a rocking start, to beat Iru Mugan's opening day collections

8 October saw three major releases at the Tamil Nadu Box Office. Siva Karthikeya Keerthi Suresh starrer Remo, Vijay Sethupathi's Rekka and Prabhu

Deva's comeback film Devi with Tamannaah Bhatia. And as expected, Remo won the opening day Box Office battle by a huge margin.

The Siva Karthikeyan starrer Remo has opened to an outstanding response at the Tamil Nadu Box Office. The trade was expecting the film to collect over Rs. 5 crore on the opening day, but Remo has sent shockwaves across Kollywood industry by raking in more than Rs. 8 crore on the opening day. Vikram blockbuster Iru Mugan to become the third biggest Tamil opener after Kabali and Theri. The film has been praised for Siva's terrific portrayal as a female nurse, which is sure to bring him more accolades.

Vijay Sethupath's sixth release of 2016, Rekka too opened to good reports on its opening day. His previous film, Aandavan Kattalai was released two weeks back, yet it has not affected his new film, which saw a good opening at the Box Office. The film stars Lakshmi Menon as the female lead and by the end of Day 1, Rekka has grossed a good Rs. 2.5 crore at Tamil Nadu Box Office.

Meanwhile,Tamannaah Bhatia's Tamil-Telugu bilingual Devi opened to an average occupancy at the Box Office. The film also marks the acting comeback of dancer-turned-director Prabhu Deva. As per early estimates, Devi has collected nearly Rs. 1.75 crore at Tamil Nadu Box Office.
