The much awaited Tamil film, Iru Mugan opened to an impressive start at Tamil Nadu Box Office. The film stars Vikram in dual roles -- as a RAW agent, Akhilan, and as a transgender villain, Love, was met with mixed reviews upon its release. The film had the benefit of the four-day weekend and collected a good Rs 20 crore plus at Tamil Nadu Box Office.
The interesting part about the weekend collections is Iru Mugan's fourth-day collections were higher than the opening day collections at the Box Office. The Anand Shankar directorial performed well in Chennai, Coimbatore, and Chengalpet cinemas. At Chennai, the Vikram starrer crossed Rs 2.5 crore mark over the weekend while in Coimbatore and Chengalpet Iru Mugan minted Rs 3 crore and Rs 4 crore in four days.
Meanwhile, Iru Mugan has showed a reasonable drop at the Kerala Box office after a good Day 1. The film, which had collected Rs 1.25 crore on its opening day, struggled to perform well alongside back to back Malayalam Onam releases. As per early reports, Iru Mugan has collected Rs 3.80 crore over the four-day weekend at Kerala Box Office.
