Last Thursday's release, Vikram starrer Iru Mugan has opened to good collections at the Tamil Nadu Box Office. The Anand Shankar directorial stars Vikram in dual roles, as a RAW agent and as a transgender villain.

The film released in over 400 screens and opened to a good Rs 5.5 crore on its opening day at the Box Office. But the film failed to cross the opening day figures of Vikram's I, which had collected Rs 8 crore upon its release in 2015. With these collections, Iru Mugan has emerged as the third biggest Tamil opener of 2016 after Rajinikanth's Kabali and Vijay's Theri.

And as per early reports, Iru Mugan had a good hold on Saturday with Rs 4.5 crore at Tamil Nadu Box Office. And the good news for the makers is the film have solid advance booking across the multiplexes of Chennai, which will definitely help the Vikram starrer to put up good numbers over the weekend.
