Over the last few days, media houses reported that Jhanvi Kapoor, the daughter of actress Sridevi and producer Boney Kapoor, would make her film debut soon.
It was reported that AR Murugadoss had approached the 19-year-old for an important role in his upcoming film - a Tamil-Telugu project starring Tollywood star Mahesh Babu.
It was also reported that director Karan Johar had met Sridevi to request that she persuade Jhanvi to give up on the Mahesh Babu-starrer as he wanted to launch her in a Bollywood film under his banner, Dharma Productions, instead.
While the reports sparked a flurry of excitement, it has now been revealed that the news is false.
The team of the untitled Murugadoss-Mahesh Babu project have squashed the rumours and have confirmed that they have not approached Jhanvi for the film.
What's more, they also revealed that the teenager's name had not cropped up even during the discussion stages.
The Mahesh Babu-starrer has been at the center of speculation ever since its announcement. Previously, it was reported that Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar would play the main antagonist of the film. The reports have not been confirmed yet.
