Shweta Menon's amazing transformation as an old man in Naval The Jewel poster goes viral

Shweta Menon is in news, once again! But this time, thanks to her amazing transformation for her last Friday release, Naval The Jewel. Directed by Renji Lal Damodaran, the film is said to deal with Arabi Kalyanam, a system in which minors get married to older men.

An image from Naval The Jewel released online featuring Shweta Menon as an old man is doing the rounds since last few days. In fact she was unrecognizable till she revealed the identity through her Facebook page.

Regarding `Naval The Jewel' movie, released on Friday. Reports about my movie,`Naval The Jewel’ have been very positive so far. People have appreciated the film - for its subject, especially the struggle of women to survive and succeed in every society today, a strong cast including two internationally-acclaimed actors and a painstaking effort by the director. My sincere request to everyone is to go and watch it in a theater near you – if you don’t do it now, movies like Naval The Jewel – that could lift Malayalam cinema to another level – will not happen more often. Not many would come forward with an effort of this magnitude. I recall the fate of another brilliant film, `Ozhimuri’, ignored in theaters, but watched with lot of appreciation on TV and online. We, as an audience, have always cherished and appreciated films based on strong, convincing stories and plots. I am looking forward to everyone making ` Nawal enna Jewel’ a success which it deserves. Shweta's role as an old man in the film is said to look after a little girl in Naval The Jewel. Her transformation as the wrinkly old man is undoubtedly one of the most remarkable transformation in Indian cinema.
