Tollywood cinema lovers will be spoilt for choice this summer as a massive number of films are lined-up for release in April and May 2016. Most of these movies include a stellar star cast that includes Pawan Kalyan, Allu Arjun, Mahesh Babu and Nithin. Distributors and exhibitors will definitely have a tough time grabbing theatres for these multiple releases.

The films lined-up for the summer race include:

Sardaar Gabbar Singh

Pawan Kalyan's upcoming film Sardaar Gabbar Singh is scheduled to release on 8 April. The film, directed by KS Ravindra and produced by Pawan Kalyan, Sharath Maraar and Sunil Lulla - under their banners Pawan Kalyan Creative Works, Northstar Entertainment and Eros International - is a sequel to the 2012 blockbuster Gabbar Singh. It stars Kajal Aggarwal, Raai Lakshmi and Sanjjanaa Archana Galrani.

Sarrainodu

Allu Arjun's upcoming film Sarrainodu was scheduled to be released on the actor's birthday, 8 April. But the makers have decided to postpone the film's release by two weeks as the actor's uncle, Pawan Kalyan's film Sardaar Gabbar Singh, is also set for a mega release on the same day. Sarrainodu will now release on 22 April.

Sarrainodu is Allu Arjun's 20th film and has Yaariyan fame Rakul Preet Singh and Catherine Tessa in the lead female roles. Srikanth and Rahul Verma are playing strong supporting roles while Aadhi is playing the antagonist. Actress Anjali will be seen in a dance number.

A..Aa

Trivikram Srinivas's upcoming film A..AA will be released on 6 May. The film stars Nithin and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. It also marks the Tollywood debut of Malalayalam film Premam actress, Anupama Parameshwaran. The initial plan was to release the film on the auspicious occasion of Sankranthi. However, the plan was later changed. The first look teaser of A..AA is reportedly set to be revealed in the next few days.

Brahmotsavam

Mahesh Babu's upcoming film Brahmotsavam is slated to hit the screens on 12 May. The film, touted to be a family entertainer, also stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Kajal Aggarwal, and Pranitha Subhash. The supporting cast of the Sreekanth Addala-directed film includes veterans like Sathyaraj, Revathi, and Jayasudha. Mahesh Babu was in the news recently when the overseas rights of his film sold for Rs 13 crore, beating Sardaar Gabbar Singh (releasing on 8 April, 2016) and the 2015 blockbuster Baahubali:The Beginning.

The Telugu superstar and king of the overseas market has reportedly bagged a whopping amount of Rs 30 crore for the film. Creating history in Tollywood cinema, he has become the only actor to be paid such a huge amount for a single film.
