Padma Awards 2019: Prabhu Deva, Kader Khan, Shankar Mahadevan and others honoured by President of India

In the starting of the year January, the Ministry of Home Affairs announced the recipients of Padma Awards for 2019. Around 56 inspiring personalities from 112 were selected for the honour. Finally, today the president of India, Ram Nath Kovind conferred the prestigious honour to the personalities.

 

Mohanlal Viswanathan, Manoj Bajpayee, Prabhu Deva, Shankar Mahadevan, Late Kader Khan and anothers from the entertainment industry won this prestigious honour. The veteran choreographer, director, actor Prabhu Deva who had worked in several films over the many years has been conferred with Padma Shri award for his contribution in the field of Art - Dance.

 

Although, Malayalam actor Mohanlal was awarded with Padma Bhushan for his contribution in the world of cinema. The actor had worked in around 300 films in his career. Music composer Shankar Mahadevan has also been awarded with Padma Shri. The actor Manoj Bajpayee also conferred with Padma Shri. He also has given several memorable performances in his career in the films like Satya, Raajneeti, Aligarh, Bandit Queen, Gangs of Wasseypur, Sarkar 3 and others.

 

The veteran comedian-actor, writer Kader Khan who died recently also honoured with Padma Shri (Posthumous-Foreigner) for his contribution in cinema with around 300 films.
