It's widely known that Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu is debuting in the Tamil film industry with A R Murugadoss' upcoming directorial venture. Touted as a Tamil-Telugu bilingual film, it will be made on a huge budget of over Rs 100 crore.
Since last week, most media houses claimed that Murugadoss had approached Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar for the main antagonist's role in the film. The news had gone viral across most social networking websites as well.
But the Ghajini director squashed the reports, saying, "Akshay Kumar is not doing my upcoming film with Mahesh Babu. We did not approach him with any roles. These stories are baseless. He is one of my favourite Bollywood actors. I had a great time while working with him in Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty. I can't even think about Akshay doing a villain's role in my film."
Santhosh Shivan will be the cinematographer of this yet-to-be-titled film with music from Harris Jayaraj. The film also marks the Tollywood debut of Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra.
The big budget film will hit the screens next year.
