Nivin Pauly's Tamil debut finally gets a title. After a lot of speculations over its title, the film has been titled Richie. The film, which also marks the directorial debut of Gautham Ramachandran is an official remake of Kannada blockbuster, Ulidavaru Kandanthe. Gautham has previously worked as an associate to director Mysskin. Richie stars Shraddha Srinath as the female lead. The film also stars Prakash Raj, Lakshmi Priya Chandramouli and Natty in supporting roles.
The original version featured Rakshit Shetty, Kishore, Sheethal Shetty, and Yagna Shetty. Reportedly, Gautham and Rakshit are close friends and it was Nivin who requested Gautham to remake the film.
The Premam actor, who's best known for his romantic roles in Malayalam films, will be seen in a negative role in Richie. Paul is already sporting a new look for the film and can be seen portraying the role of an arrogant gangster. He has already started dubbing for the film.
The first look poster of Richie is expected to be out next week.
