The much-awaited teaser of Mohanlal-starrer Pulimurugan is finally out. The teaser was unveiled on 21 May, the 56th birthday of the superstar of Malayalam cinema.
Pulimurugan marks Mohanlal's first release of the year. His last outing, Kanal was released on October 2015.
The one-minute and 20-seconds teaser introduces the character of a hunter named Murugan, played by Mohanlal.
Pulimurugan, which is touted to be the costliest film to be ever made in Malayalam, also stars veteran actor Gopakumar. In the teaser, Gopakumar can be seen describing Murugan as the 'killer of man-eaters'.
The teaser also features director-turned-actor Lal calling Murugan an avatar of Narasimham.
Pulimurugan also features Telugu actor Jagapati Babu in the role of the antagonist.
Mohanlal has reportedly lost at least six kg to play the character of Murugan. The makers roped in renowned action director, Peter Hein, to direct the stunts.
Mohanlal has performed all the stunts for the film. And the teaser allows viewers a peek into the much-talked about, high-voltage fight sequence between Mohanlal and a real tiger.

Most of the scenes were shot in Vietnam, a first for Malayalam cinema. The film will be released in China and Vietnam as well.
Directed by Vyshak, and produced by Tomichan Mulakupadam, Pulimurugan also stars Bengali-Telugu actress Kamalini Mukherjee, Tamil actress Namitha. Suraj Venjaramoodu, Bala, Vinu Mohan, Kishore and Makarand Deshpande in important roles.
Pulimurugan is slated to release this Eid.
