Mammootty and Unni Mukundan in Masterpiece

Good news for the fans of Malayalam actors Mammootty and Unni Mukundan. The star duo's 2017 Christmas release Masterpiece is all set to be released soon. Directed by the 2014 Mammootty hit Rajadhi Radha fame Ajai Vasudev and produced by CH Muhammed of Royal Cinemas, Masterpiece had minted more than Rs. 40 crore and turned out to be a blockbuster at the Box Office.

Royal Cinemas took to their Facebook page to confirm the update on Tuesday night.

"Hello folks,

Glad to inform you all that our debut venture #Masterpiece will be dubbed into Tamil and Telugu after having a successful run in Kerala. The dubbing for Tamil and Telugu will start tomorrow and both versions will release in the month of march.

Thanks to one and all for standing by us for making Masterpiece a huge success. We owe you a lot for your love and support.

It's a smart decision from the makers to release Masterpiece in Tamil and Telugu as the Malayalam Mass entertainers generally works big across the cinemas of Telangana and Tamil Nadu. Earlier, the 2016 Mohanlal blockbuster Pulimurugan too dubbed in Telugu and Tamil and both the versions turned out to be huge money spinners. Also, Unni Mukundan's recent Telugu release Bhaagamathie along with Anushka Shetty emerged as the first super hit of 2018.

Upon its release, Masterpiece has been praised for its thrilling story, action sequences and the performances of the lead cast, especially Unni Mukundan, who delivered one of his career best performance as A.C.P John Thekkan IPS. Masterpiece also featured an ensemble star cast including Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Poonam Bajwa, Mahima Nambiar Santhosh Pandit, Mukesh, Salim Kumar, Maqbool Salmaan, Kailash, John, Lena, Arjun Nandakumar and Maqbool Salmaan.
