Mammootty-starrer Kasaba is all set to hit the screens on Eid. The film is the debut vehicle of Nithin Renji Panicker, the son of screenwriter-turned-actor Renji Panicker. Rahul Raj has composed the music for the film, which will be produced by Alice Joseph under the banner, Good Will Entertainments.

The makers are planning a wide release for the film, which is set to become the biggest Mammootty release ever.

The change in the release date of Mohanlal-starrer Pulimurugan has worked in Kasaba's favour as now the later will get more screens. Reportedly, Kasaba is planning to release on more than 150 screens on 7 July. Mammookka's earlier films, Kerala Varma Pazhassi Raja and Gangster, were released on more than 100 screens.

Kasaba's first look received an overwhelming response from the audience. The poster features Mammootty in a police uniform, sporting cool green aviators with a lot of swag. The poster, featuring the 64-year-old actor, has garnered attention across social media as well. The film will see Mammootty play the role of Rajan Zachariah, a gentle Circle Inspector.

Kasaba marks the Malayalam movie debut of Kannada actresses Neha Saxena and Varalakshmi Sarath Kumar, the daughter of Tamil actor Sarath Kumar.
