It has been a disappointing 2016 so far for Mohanlal fans with no films to their superstar's credit. The actor's last film, Kanal, was released in October 2015. In fact, it has been 10 months since a Mohanlal film has made it to the cinemas.

But the good news for Mohanlal fans is the second half of 2016, which is definitely looking solid for Lalettan with five films lined up for release in five months.

The actor will see his first release of the year, Telugu film Manamantha on 5 August, 2016. He will portray the character of a supermarket manager in this family thriller. The makers are also releasing the Malayalam dubbed version of the film, Vismayam, in Kerala upon its release.

2 September will see one of the biggest Tollywood releases of the year, the multi-starrer Janatha Garage. Mohanlal is essaying the character of a car-workshop owner in this action thriller. Janatha Garage also has a formidable star cast, including Telugu superstar Jr.NTR, Malayalam youth icon Unni Mukundan, Samantha and Nithya Menen. Similar to Manamantha, the Malayalam dubbed version of Janatha Garage will release on the same day in Kerala.

10 days after Janatha Garage's release, Mohanlal - Priyadarshan's Oppam will hit the screens. The Malayalam thriller will see Mohanlal in the role of a visually impaired man. The film also features Vimala Raman, Anusree, Samuthirakani and Nedumudi Venu. Oppam will also have the benefit of Onam holidays to become a sure shot blockbuster at the Kerala Box office.

7 October will see the much-awaited Malayalam film of the year, Pulimurugan. Produced by Tomichan Mulakupadam on a massive budget of Rs 18 crore and directed by Vysakh, the film will see the four-time-National-award winner donning the character of a wild hunter.

The last release of Kerala's Lalettan is slated to release in December. The un-titled film of Vellimoonga director, Jibu Jacob also marks the collaboration of Mohanlal and Meena after the all-time blockbuster, Drishyam. The actor is portraying the role of a Panchayat Secretary in the film.

Seems like Mohanlal is following the back-back-to-films theory of Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar!
