The much awaited Onam weekend finally comes to an end on a rocking note at the Kerala Box Office. The 11-day-long festival period saw more than seven releases, including Mohanlal's Oppam, Vikram's Iru Mugan, Dileep's Welcome To Central Jail and Prithviraj's Oozham.

The combined total collection of all films after the Onam weekend was a massive Rs 47 crore, which is now the highest ever in the Malayalam film history. And as expected, Mohanlal's Oppam creates history by emerging the all-time top opening week record at the Kerala Box Office.

1) Oppam

Mohanlal films are always touted as festival releases for the Malayalam film audience. And when the superstar collaborated with his favorite director Priyadarshan for Oppam, the sky was the limit for the blockbuster actor - director duo that had delivered more than 25 successful films at the Box office. Oppam was the first Malayalam release for Lalettan in 2016 and the film had a grand welcome at the Kerala Box Office. The Mohanlal - Priyadarshan film, has overpowered the opening week collections of Nivin Pauly's Premam. At the end of 11 theatrical days, Oppam has minted a whopping Rs 18 crore at the Kerala Box Office, which is an earth-shattering response considering that that film had to battle out with six major Onam releases. The word-of-mouth of the film is super strong and will help the film beat the life-time collections of 2016's top Malayalam grosser, Jacobinte Swargarajyam.

2) Oozham

Prithviraj starrer Oozham too hits the jackpot at the Kerala Box Office. The Dhrishyam maker, Jeethu Joseph's new directorial was rock steady despite many new Onam releases in the last week. The film has so far minted a good Rs 9.50 crore at the Kerala Box Office and will cross the Rs 10 crore mark within next two days. The film also delivered second hit in a row for Prithviraj - Jeethu Joseph duo after the blockbuster Memories.

3) Welcome To Central Jail

The Sundar Dass' directorial, Welcome To Central Jail opened to negative reviews at the Kerala Box Office. The film was criticised heavily for its poor content and low comedy. But, wait! It has not affected the Dileep-starrer at the Box Office. Yes, Welcome To Central Jail once again proved that negative reviews can't affect the collection of a Dileep film. The no-brainer-comedy-entertainer minted Rs 9 crore at the Kerala Box Office and earned another hit for Malayalam cinema's Janapriyanayakan after Two Countries and King Liar. Like his previous two hit films,WTCJ is also set to cross the Rs 10 crore mark soon at the Kerala Box Office.

4) Iru Mugan

After a good opening week, Vikram-starrer Iru Mugan has showed noticeable drop in its second weekend at Kerala Box Office. The Anand Shankar directorial was expected to repeat the performance of Vikram's I at the Kerala Box Office. But the Tamil sci-fi thriller had a tough time with back-to-back Onam Malayalam releases at Kerala Box Office. By the end of 11 theatrical days, Iru Mugan has collected a Rs 6 crore at the Kerala Box Office, which is just an above average performance for a Vikram-starrer. His 2015 film with Shankar, I minted Rs 19.75 crore at the Kerala Box Office.

5) Kochavva Paulo Ayyappa Coelho

The Kunchacruko Boban-starrer Kochavva Paulo Ayyappa Coelho had an average second weekend at the Kerala Box Office. It was really disappointing to see the film under-performing at the Box Office despite getting very good reviews from critics and the audience. The Siddharth Shiva directorial has failed to get the deserving number of screens and has affected the collection of Kochavva Paulo Ayyappa Coelho at the Box Office. By the end of its 10-theatrical run, KPACmanaged to gross an average Rs 3 crore at the Kerala Box Office.

6) Oru Muthassi Gadha

The last Malayalam Onam release, Jude Anthany's Oru Muthassi Gadha is performing decently at the Kerala Box Office. The Vineeth Sreenivasan - Aparna Balamurali-starrer, which had released on Onam, 14 September had a decent 5-day opening weekend at the Box Office. The film, which was made on a small budget by Mukesh Ratilal Mehta has grossed more than Rs 1.75 crore on its opening weekend and has every chance to become a good success at the Kerala Box Office.
