Tamil actor Suriya's Singam 3 released today. Directed by Hari and produced by Gnanavel Raja, the film marks the third series of Singam franchise.

Singam 3 has opened to a fantastic note at the single screens across the Kerala Box Office. At several places, special fans shows were screened at 8 AM with houseful boards. At the multiplexes, Singam 3 has taken decent business and is expected to pick up from matinee shows. The action-entertainer was released in 218 screens in Kerala, which is huge considering that Tamil films normally releases in less number of 200 screens. Even the Mohanlal starrer Pulimurugan was released in 215 screens upon its release. Singam 3 also unseats Rajinikanth's Lingaa to become the third biggest release ever in Kerala. The film will be chasing the second and third Tamil opening records set by Theri and I at the Kerala Box Office. However, it's evident that Singam 3can't break the highest opening day record set by Kabali.

Singam 3 also marks Suriya as DSP Durai Singam. Debutant Anup Singh Thakur who portrays the main antagonist of the film, is being talked about too.

Singam 3 also stars Anushka Shetty and Shruti Haasan.
