Pooja Holidays are over and the results are out. As expected, Mohanlal starrer, Pulimurugan created history at the Kerala Box Office. The Vysakh directorial, which had released on 7 October 2016 to an outstanding response, has finished its one-week theatrical run with record-breaking collections.
1) Pulimurugan
The Lalettan starrer has collected a whopping Rs. 25.5 crore on its opening week to emerge as the film with the highest opening week collections at Kerala Box Office. Interestingly, the film has crossed Rs. 4 crore-mark on six days of the week. Pulimurugan lost nearly Rs. 3 crore on Wednesday, due to the Kerala-Harthal from morning 9AM to evening 6PM. However, the film has recorded Rs. 1 crore collections across the state post the 6 PM shows.
And as per second-weekend early trends, Pulimurugan is unstoppable at the Kerala Box Office.
2) Thoppil Joppan
Mammootty starrer Thoppil Joppan managed to survive the Pulimurugan storm at the Kerala Box Office. The Johny Antony directorial, which had clashed with Pulimurugan at the Box Office has collected Rs. 8 crore on its opening week despite getting average reviews. Also, the huge rush for Pulimurugan shows has worked in favor of Thoppil Joppan as the audience who couldn't get the tickets of the Mohanlal starrer instead watched Mammootty flick. The film is all set to cross the Rs. 10 crore mark at the Kerala Box Office.
3) Kavi Udeshichathu
The Biju Menon-Asif Ali starrer Kavi Udeshichathu also took the advantage of Pulimurugan wave at the Kerala Box Office. The film, which opened to positive reviews, grossed nearly Rs. 2 crore on its opening week. The film also stars Lena and Dinesh Prabhakar.
4) Oppam
Meanwhile, Mohanlal's Onam blockbuster, Oppam, has completed 35 days at the Kerala Box Office. The Priyadarshan directorial has so far collected Rs. 37 crore and is on its way to become the fastest Rs. 40-crore grosser at the Box Office, which will definitely be beaten by Lalettan's Pulimurugan soon.
5) Oozham
Prithviraj Sukumaran's Onam hit, Oozham, too doing reasonably well at the Box Office despite the new releases of Big M's of Mollywood. The film has so far grossed Rs. 16 crore at the Kerala Box Office.
