Kerala Box Office: Mohanlal's Villain had a humongous opening weekend, emerges 3rd all-time opener after Baahubali 2 and Pulimurugan

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal's Villain has completed its opening weekend on a historical note. The emotional-thriller, which had released on October 27 starred Lalettan in the titular role of a retired police officer, Mathews Manjooran. Directed by B Unnikrishnan, Villain also marks the maiden Malayalam venture of Rockline Venkatesh, the maker of Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan.

Catch had previously reported that the Mohanlal starrer had emerged as the all-time Malayalam opener at the Kerala Box Office.

And now, Villain has set yet another record with its impressive opening weekend collections.

Reportedly, Villain has clocked a whopping Rs 12 crore in its first three days at the Kerala Box Office. The film also emerged as the third top film to cross the Rs. 12 crore mark at the Kerala Box Office. The first two spots were occupied by the Malayalam dubbed version of Baahubali 2 and the all-time Malayalam blockbuster, Mohanlal starrer Pulimurugan.

Apart from it's terrific Box Office collections, Villain has been praised for the performance of Mohanlal, which is said to be the actor's best work after Dhrishyam.

Villain also stars Manju Warrier along with Tamil actors Vishal and Hansika and Telugu stars Srikanth and Raashi Khanna.
