Malayalam superstar Mohanlal's Villain released on 27 October and as expected, the action thriller has opened to an earth shattering response at the Kerala Box Office. In fact, Villain has taken highest opening ever in the history of Malayalam cinema.

Catch had previously reported that Villain emerged as the all-time highest Malayalam release by releasing in 253 screens across the Kerala. And now, Villain has emerged as the all-time highest opener in the history of Malayalam cinema.

On its opening day, the Lalettan starrer has minted a massive Rs. 4.91 crore to become the all-time highest Malayalam opener at the Kerala Box Office. Be it single screens or multiplexes, Villain has recorded terrific collections throughout its opening day. With this mammoth opening, Villain has shattered the all-time Malayalam day 1 record set by Mammootty - Prithviraj film The Great Father.
