Kerala Box Office: Good opening for Mammootty's Thoppil Joppan despite clash with Mohanlal's Pulimurugan

Mammootty starrer, Thoppil Joppan has opened to good occupancy at the Kerala Box Office. Directed by hit maker Johny Antony and produced by Noushad Alathur, Thoppal Joppan is Mammootty's third film to get released in a span of three months.

The film, which had released alongside Mohanlal starrer Pulimurugan on 7 October has collected nearly Rs. 1.40 crore on its opening day. However, the comedy-entertainer fails to beat the opening day collections of Mammootty's Eid release, Kasaba at the Kerala Box Office.

But the alarming factor for Thoppil Joppan is the ordinary reviews film is getting from the critics unlike Pulimurugan, which had won positive reviews from critics and audience alike. The film should see stable collections on the weekend and the upcoming Pooja holidays to make a mark at the Kerala Box Office.
