Kannada actress Shanvi Srivastava has been roped in to portray a pivotal role in the upcoming Chinese web series. Reportedly, the Sandalwood actress will be seen as an Indian princess in the series. Shanvi will be seen in the seventh out of the eleven episodes series, directed by AP Tompel, one of the successful web-series makers in China.

The story is tipped to be a love story between Indian princess and a Chinese emperor.

The story is about the Indian princess falling in love with a Chinese emperor and how their love progresses. On choosing Shanvi for the role, we hear that the team was scouting for a suitable actor to play the Indian princess and stumbled upon Shanvi’s profile which matched perfectly.
Interestingly, the makers of the Chinese web series were considering to cast Sunny Leone for the role but the idea was dropped after they felt that her western looks wouldn’t be suitable. Eventually, the role went to Shanvi.

Shanvi was quoted as saying:

“Over the first half of September, China was my travel destination. I had to undergo a look test to play an Indian Princess. I learnt Chinese for the role.”

Shanvi Srivastava made her acting debut with the 2012 Telugu film Lovely. In the very next year she made her Kannada debut with Chandralekha. She has also won SIIMA Best actress critics award for her performance in Masterpiece. Shanvi is the sister of actress Vidisha Srivastava.
