Kamal Haasan,Shruti Haasan to play father-daughter in reel life

Kamal Haasan is all set to revive his popular character from the 2008 super hit Dasavatharam, in his upcoming trilingual film. The Tamil megastar will revive the character of Balram Naidu, a police officer from the action-comedy in the yet-untitled film. The film was officially launched during the Nadigar Sangham event on Friday.

The film will introduce Balram Naidu's family to the audience for the first time. Touted as an action-comedy entertainer, Baahubali actress Ramya Krishnan will portray the role of Kamal's wife in the film. Ramya was last seen with Kamal in the 2002 hit comedy, Panchathantiram.

The film also stars Shruti Haasan as Kamal's daughter. For the first time, the real life father-daughter duo will be essaying the same relationship on screen.

Veteran Telugu comedian Brahmanandam will be seen in the role of Kamal's sidekick, Appa Rao. The film is being produced by Kamal Haasan under his banner, Raaj Kamal International, and will be directed by well-known Malayalam director Raajeev Kumar. The film also marks the collaboration of Kamal Haasan and Ilayaraja after a long gap of 11 years. The actor- music maestro duo last worked together in the 2005 film, Mumbai Express.

The film also stars veteran Bollywood actor Saurabh Shukla. It will hit the floors on May and will be shot simultaneously in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
