Exclusive: Unni Mukundan bags another Telugu film, teams up with Baahubali actress Anushka Shetty

It's widely known that Malayalam actor Unni Mukundan is making his Telugu debut in upcoming Telugu magnum-opus, Janatha Garage. The Sai Korappatti directorial also stars Mohanlal, Jr NTR, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, and Nithya Menen. The Malayalam youth icon is portraying the main antagonist role -- Raghav, with Malayalam superstar Lalettan and veteran actress Devayani playing his parents in the film.

While his debut film is yet to release, the versatile actor has bagged another Telugu film. But this time, in a lead role.

In an exclusive interview to Catch, Unni Mukundan revealed that he will be playing the lead role in G Ashok's upcoming film, Bhagmati. The film stars the Baahubali actress, Anushka Shetty as the female lead. Touted as a thriller, Bhagmati is produced by V Vamsi Krishna Reddy and Pramod Uppalapati under the banner of UV Creations.

"I can't reveal much about the film right now. But, Bhagmati will be an entirely different film from Janatha Garage. In Janatha Garage, you'll be seeing me as a villain whereas in Bhagmati, I am playing the lead role," Unni said.

2016 has been turning out to be a fruitful year for Unni as the actor's two Malayalam films, Style and Oru Murai Vanthu Parthaaya were clean hits at the Box Office. Meanwhile, Janatha Garage is slated to release on 2 September 2016.
