Baahubali writer, Gabbar Is Back maker team up for Kangana Ranaut's ​​Manikarnika

After making a debut in Bollywood with Akshay Kumar starrer Gabbar Is Back, Telugu director Krish is all set to make his second Hindi outing soon. The film, tentatively titled Manikarnika, stars Kangana Ranaut as the leading heroine of the film. The film will have script by K.V. Vijayendra Prasad, the writer of Baahubali and Bajrangi Bhaijaan fame.

Touted as a historical drama, Manikarnika will be based on the life and legacy of the warrior queen of Jhansi, Rani Laxmibai. Reportedly, the birth name of Laxmibai, Manikarnika has inspired the makers to name the film with same title. The three time National award winning actress will be donning the role of Manikarnika in the film.

Manikarnika was earlier scheduled to be directed by Ketan Mehta, but Krish has replaced him now. The film will starts rolling on Thursday, on the occasion of Kangana's birthday. She will be shooting for the first look poster of the film tomorrow.
