Wait, a Theri 2? Sequel to Vijay's film may be a political thriller

Good news for Ilayathalapathy Vijay fans. The actor's upcoming film Theri is just two months away from its scheduled release date. But the actor is eager to make the sequel of the film.

Vijay is said to be keen to star in an out-and-out political thriller and Theri 2 seems like an apt platform for this vision. According to reports, Vijay has expressed his desire to work with Theri director Atlee Kumar once again for the sequel. Theri is Atlee's second directorial venture - after he made his Kollywood debut with the blockbuster Raja Rani.

The actor recently wrapped up the shooting for Theri. To say that the teaser of the film, which released on 5 February, was well received would be an understatement. The teaser took social media by storm - crossing 8 million views on YouTube within the first 10 days alone. The teaser will cross the 1 crore views mark in the next two days.

The film will see Vijay romancing Samantha and Amy Jackson. Theri also stars KS Ravikumar, Raadhikaa Sarathkumar, TM Karthik and Kaali Venkat.

The official trailer and the audio of Theri will be released next month. The film is expected to hit the big screen on 15 April.
