It's known that veteran Telugu actor Venkatesh is known for portraying the lead roles in the Telugu remakes of hit films. Be it Malayalam, Tamil or Bollywood, Venkatesh has already done Telugu remakes of most of the languages. The Telugu superstar's recent hits are the remakes of Malayalam film Drishyam, Akshay Kumar's Oh My God and R Madhavan's Irudhi Suttru.

And now if Telugu reports are to be believed, Venkatesh is all set to remake another Malayalam blockbuster in Telugu.

Reportedly, Venkatesh will portray the lead role in the Telugu remake of the Malayalam superstar Mammootty's recent blockbuster The Great Father. The Babu Bangaram actor will be seen reprising the lead role of David Nainan portrayed brilliantly by Mammukka in its original version. The Great Father narrates a socially relevant topic and if made well, will be an eye opener in Telugu film industry as well.

Upon its release, The Great Father had minted more than Rs. 30 crore at the Kerala Box Office to become a clean blockbuster. The action-thriller, bankrolled by actor Prithviraj Sukumaran also marked the directorial debut of Haneef Adeni.
