Malayalam superstar Mohanlal's last week release, Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol is doing good business at the Kerala Box Office. Directed by Vellimoonga fame Jibu Jacob, the film is produced by Sophia Paul under the banner of Weekend Blockbusters. The family entertainer is getting positive reviews from critics and audience alike and if the Telugu media reports are to believed, Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol is all set to be remade in Telugu soon.
Reportedly, Telugu superstar Venkatesh likes the story of Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol and the impact created by the film among the Malayalam film audience. Venkatesh is keen to remake the film in Telugu under his home banner. The actor himself is planning to play the male lead of Ulahannan, portrayed brilliantly by Lalettan in Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol.
Earlier, Venkatesh had reprised Mohanlal's role in the Telugu remake of Drishyam, which went on to become one of the biggest hits of the actor. The film, titled Drushyam has been widely praised for Venkatesh's acting as well.
Meanwhile, Munthirivallikal Thalirkumbol is Mohanlal's fourth Malayalam release in a span of 142-calendar-days. The four-time National award winner's previous three releases, Telugu film Janatha Garage and Malayalam films Oppam and Pulimurugan turned out to be all-time blockbusters at the Box Office. Interestingly, Janatha Garage became 2016's highest Tollywood grosser while Pulimurugan and Oppam became all-time number one and all-time third industry hits of Malayalam cinema.
Munthirivallikal Thalirkumbol also stars an ensemble star cast including Anoop Menon, Alencier Ley Lopez, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Sharafudheen, Srindaa, Sudheer Karamana and Bindu Panicker. The film also stars Jacobinte Swargarajyam fame Aima Rosmy Sebastian and Bhaskar The Rascal fame Sanoop Santhosh as Mohanlal's kids. Munthirivallikal Thalirkumbol also marks the second Malayalam outing of Kannada actress and Kasaba fame Neha Saxena.
