Adirindhi, the Telugu dubbed version of Thalapathy Vijay's Diwali Tamil blockbuster Mersal released on Thursday. And surprisingly, the action entertainer had recorded terrific occupancy throughout its opening day at the Telugu Box Office.

Generally, Telugu dubbed versions of other language films used to open on an average note, however as per early Thursday reports, Adirindhi has different story to tell. In Krishna region in Telangana, the dubbed version of the Thalapathy starrer has collected nearly Rs. 17.50 lakh on its opening day to become the best opener for a dubbed film of Thalapathy Vijay's career. Thanks to BJP controversies over the GST dialogues in Mersal, the film had caught nationwide attention and worked to a large extend at the Box Office.

Directed by Atlee and bankrolled by Sri Thenandal Films, Mersal starred the Tamil superstar in triple roles.
