With four movies up for release, Samantha Prabhu to rule summer 2016 and how

Looks like Samantha Ruth Prabhu is all set to rule the screens this upcoming summer season. Her Tamil film Theri will hit theatres on 14 April 2016. Her Tamil-Telugu bilingual film 24 is releasing on 29 April followed by her Telugu film A..AA on 6 May. Her mega-budget Telugu release Brahmotsavam is set for a 12 May release.

Interestingly, none of her four upcoming films fall in the same genre.

Samantha's first summer release Theri has Vijay playing the male lead. The storyline of the Atlee directorial has not been revealed yet, but going by its posters, it appears to be revolving around a person with dual personalities. Amy Jackson co-stars in the film. The film is all set for a massive release on the auspicious occasion of 'Chitjirai Thirunaal' (Tamil New Year) on 14 April 2016.

Her second release of the year, Tamil-Telugu bilingual film 24 stars actor Suriya in three different roles. The film has been described as a science-fiction thriller with a time-travel angle as its main plot. Vikram Kumar of Yavarum Nalam has written and directed the film and it stars Nithya Menen in the female lead. According to reports, the film will release on 29 April.

Samantha's third summer release, Telugu film A..AA has been directed by Trivikram Srinivas. Actor Nithin will be essaying the lead role in the film, which also marks the Tollywood debut of Anupama Parameshwaran of Malayalam film Premam fame. The initial plan was to release the film on Sankranthi. However, the makers later decided to release the film on 6 May.

Brahmotsavam

In her last summer release of 2016, Brahmotsavam, Samantha is co-starring with Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu. The Sreekanth Addala-directed film was in the news recently when the overseas rights of his film were sold for Rs 13 crore, beating Sardaar Gabbar Singh (releasing on 8 April 2016) and the 2015 blockbuster Baahubali: The Beginning. The film, touted to be a family entertainer, also stars Kajal Aggarwal and Pranitha Subhash as female leads. Brahmotsavam is slated to hit the screens on 12 May.
