Vijay's Theri has been going strong at the Box Office after a roaring start on Tamil New Year, on Thursday (April 14, 2016). The Atlee directorial has sailed smoothly into the coveted Rs 100-crore club in its opening week. Theri is now the fastest ever film to cross the Rs100 crore mark worldwide in Tamil cinema.

The film is Ilayathalapathy Vijay's third film to cross the Rs 100 crore mark worldwide. The actor's previous films in the Rs 100 club are Thuppakki (2012) and Kaththi in (2014), which were Box Office blockbusters. With Theri, Vijay has waltzed past his contemporaries and has equalled megastar Rajinikanth's record (three Rs 100 crore films) of the maximum number of Rs 100 crore films in Tamil cinema.

Theri recorded the highest opening weekend ever in Kerala with collections of Rs 9.85 crore. On Monday afternoon, it had crossed the coveted Rs 10 crore mark at the Kerala Box Office. The Ilayathalapthy-starrer easily surpassed the lifetime business of his previous blockbustersThuppakki and Kaththi (both Rs 10 crore plus grossers) in just five days.

With the kind of run it's having at the Box Office, Theri is eyeing some more cinema records to break!
