Shankar's Tamil film 2.0 is slated to be released soon, but the film is already creating headlines. The sequel to the 2010 blockbuster was in news ever since the cast and budget of the film were announced. 2.0 stars Rajinikanth and Amy Jackson in lead roles while Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar makes his Tamil debut as the main antagonist of the film.

Produced by Lyca Prodcutions, the film was earlier planned to be made on a whopping budget of Rs. 350 crore, but later increased to Rs. 400 crore for matching the VFX of the film to international standards.

And now, according to the latest Kollywood updates, the makers are planning to increase the budget of 2.0 by Rs. 50 crore for the lavish set erected in Mahabalipuram and for the future post production work. The makers also roped in Hollywood action director Kenny Bates, who choreographed actions in films like Die Hard, Pearl Harbor, and Transformers. Also, it has been revealed that 2.0 is likely to cross the budget of Rs. 450 crore by the time it releases on upcoming Diwali.

2.0 also stars Adil Hussain and Kalabhavan Shajon. The film also marks the eleventh collaboration of Shankar and AR Rahman.
