Inspired by PM Modi's 'hard work', Saina Nehwal joins BJP

Saina Nehwal joins BJP

Saina Nehwal is the latest from the sports fraternity to throw his hat in the political ring. The badminton champion Saina Nehwal on  Wednesday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) ahead of Delhi Assembly Polls. Her sister Saina Nehwal's sister Chandranshu also joined the saffron party. The join the BJP in the presence of the party's national general secretary Arun Singh at BJP headquarters.

According to sources in BJP, the badminton champion is likely to campaign for the Delhi Assembly polls.


Speaking at the joining event, she said, "Today, I am joining a party that performs well for the country. Modi Ji has done so much for sports in India with initiatives like Khelo India. Looking forward to working hard for the country and the people."

"I have won medals for India. I am very hard working and I love hardworking persons. I can see PM Modi does so much for the country, I want to do something for the country with him. I draw a lot of inspiration from Narendra sir," she added.
