He further hit out at the intellectuals and said they were silent about the Kamduni and Park Street gang rape cases.

The MP, who had joined the BJP after quitting the TMC ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections made the allegations on the prominent personalities after actors, directors and musicians in West Bengal participated in rallies to protest against the new citizenship law and the proposed NRC.

Apart from Khan, Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh also attacked the intellectuals of the state and had said, these days there are so many intellectuals in Bengal giving 'gyan' to people throughout the day and creating a cacophony. CPIM created these intellectuals by bringing them on to the streets and now, 'didimoni' (CM Mamata) has created a factory to produce them.
