Punjab Minister and Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu reacted on the ongoing controversy over his comments on deadly Pulwama terror attack on security personnel and said he stands by his statement that terrorism shouldn’t be tolerated.

“I am firm on my stand. Terrorism will not be tolerated. People who are responsible should be punished harshly that it acts as a deterrence for generations to come,” ANI quoted saying, Sidhu.

Cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu also attacked Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led BJP government who released 1999 Kandahar incident terrorists and asked who is responsible for it.

“I want to ask who released those involved in the 1999 Kandahar incident? Who's responsibility is it? Our fight is against them. Why should a soldier die? Why can't there be a permanent solution?” Punjab minister added.

Meanwhile, Navjot Singh is already in trouble over his comments as Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) in Chandigarh not only demands his suspension as Punjab Minister but also seeks a case should be registered against him over anti-national statements.

Also, SAD leader BS Majithia says “Punjab CM passes a resolution condemning Pulwama Attack. But a man (Navjot Singh Sidhu) in the cabinet praises Pak. We wanted to move a resolution against it in the Assembly today. But, we were not allowed, if we can't speak in the Assembly, where do we speak?”

Navjot Singh Sidhu has also been sacked by Sony TV from Kapil Sharma’s show over a massive protest against him as people on social media started #boycottkapilsharmashow till his removal.

On Thursday, Pakistan backed- Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) attacked the long 78- vehicle convoy on Jammu-Srinagar highway with a suicide car bomber driven by 22-year-old terrorist Adil Ahmad Dar. The SUV is full of over 350 kg explosive and detonated 60 kg of RDX.
