Watch: BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj asks a girl to unbutton her jeans during a public meeting
In a video that went viral on various social media platforms, Bharatiya Janata Party MP Sakshi Maharaj reportedly asked a girl to pull down her jeans in a public meeting in Uttar Pradesh on 5 May.
According to media reports, Sakshi Maharaj had called the public meeting to address the inappropriate behavior of the Unnao Police who allegedly misbehaved with BJP worker Maidan Singh's daughters and forcefully entered his house without lady constables during a police raid.
Sakshi Maharaj has said that he was only checking the girl 's injury marks after being allegedly being beaten up by cops.
No one including the girl's family stepped up to intervene.

A news channel quoted Sakshi Maharaj as saying, "She's like my daughter. How can a father ask his daughter to pull her pants down?"
The lawmaker has also been booked for allegedly threatening police officials. According to a report in the Times of India he reportedly said, "The police would have to face bullet, if it conducts any further raid at Maidan Singh's house."
