Watch BJP MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal's eco-friendly celebrations with locals on Ladakh UT status

Ladakh MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, whose name is on everyone’s lips after his dynamic speech in Lok Sabha over the UT status to Ladakh, is back to his home town on Sunday. He was overwhelmed with the welcome that he received from locals. The young BJP MP, who shot to fame, was spotted in celebrations mode in his constituency.

Namgyal also took to his official Twitter handle and shared the visuals of his celebrations. In the video, he can be seen doing some steps of Ladakh’s traditional dance forms. He was also carrying the tricolor and dancing while walking through a crowded street. He was surrounded by his supporters and the onlookers, who were cheering and also clicking a photo with him.


He wrote, “The residents believe firmly in the principle of environmental conservation. Following this norm, they have taken a pledge of no crackers even for the celebrations.

This video shows how celebrations can happen in an eco-friendly environment. #NewLadakh.”



 

Tsering was applauded from all directions for his speech in Lok Sabha, including PM Modi who wrote, "My young friend, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal who is @MPLadakh delivered an outstanding speech in the Lok Sabha while discussing key bills on J&K. He coherently presents the aspirations of our sisters and brothers from Ladakh. It is a must-hear!"

On 6th August, the Centre scrapped Article 370 and ended the special status for Jammu and Kashmir. Also, bifurcated the states into two Union Territories- Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh.

After this decision, Ladakh will be a UT without a legislature, which will have elected representatives.
