Watch: 2 Army jawans brutally thrashed on road by restaurant employees in UP’s Baghpat; video viral
Two army jawans were brutally assaulted and thrashed by a mob in Uttar Pradesh’s Baghpat, reported ANI on Sunday. At least seven people have been arrested in connection to the matter. The incident took after an argument broke between them at a restaurant.
A video of the incident went viral on social media, in which the two men in plain clothes could be seen being attacked and thrashed by a crowd of at least a dozen people. A group of men thrashed an Army jawan with sticks and rods.

In the video, it can be seen another jawan tries to defuse the tension- and gets beaten too. One of the soldiers identified as Amit, in green kurta could be seen fighting back, wrestling his attackers to the floor. While a man comes and begins beating him with a stick.
Another soldier carrying a red bag is seen trying to fight the mob. Amit, a native of a village in Baghpat, got injured in the attack.
“Two Army jawans were having lunch at a restaurant when they had an argument with a person, then the restaurant staff got involved and a fight broke out. Case registered and 7-8 restaurant employees have been arrested, further probe underway,” speaking to news agency police official Ramnand Kushwaha said.
Both the sides filed complaints with the police and seven members of the hotel staff has been arrested.
