UP Police arrest donkeys for destroying jail property

In a strange incident that occurred in Uttar Pradesh, the local police has arrested donkeys and kept them in the jail. The incident belongs to Urai jail. According to the news agency ANI, these donkeys were behind the bar for eating the valuable plants following which they were arrested and detained for four days.

The head constable RK Mishra of Urai Jail said that the donkeys had destroyed very expensive plants outside the jail. After the incident, the owner of the donkeys were told to keep them away from the premises of police station.

“These donkeys had destroyed some very expensive plants which our senior officer had arranged for planting inside jail and despite warnings the owner let loose his animals here so we detained the donkeys,” Urai jail head constable RK Mishra was quoted by news agency ANI as saying.


It is worth noting that earlier, during the assembly elections, the issue of donkeys in the state had been heaped. Then the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav had made fun of white donkeys of Gujarat during a meeting in Rae Bareilly.
