UP: Girl molested, father allegedly hacked to death by eve-teasers

In another grim reminder of the deteriorating law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh, a man was allegedly beaten to death after he tried to save his daughter's modesty from eve-teasers in Amroha district. The incident occurred on Wednesday.

Reportedly, the victim, a student of Class XI, had complained to her father on numerous occasions of being harassed by some roadside boys from the same locality. Her father then reported the matter to one of the the miscreants' family.

At this, the culprits flew into a rage and on Wednesday night, attacked the girl's father at their residence. They beat him to death.

Uday Shankar Singh, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Amroha, said they have initiated an inquiry in the matter.
