UP: CM Yogi Adityanath announces financial aid to 15 lakh daily wage workers amid Coronavirus outbreak

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Satruday said the state government will provide lakhs of daily wage labourers and construction workers Rs 1,000 a day to satisfy their requirements.

The announcement comes as India rushes to bottle up the spread of the novel coronavirus, over 270 people have been infected thus far, and four have lost their lives.


At a press conference on Saturday, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister stated that there were 23 cases in the state. Nine people have recuperated, he said.

Around a sixth of all coronavirus patient become seriously ill, as per the World Health Organisation. The elderly and people with pre-existing medical conditions are at greater risk.

Depending on location, estimates of the death rate have ranged from less than 1% to as much as 4%.

The global death tally lately crossed 10,000.

So far, there is no approved vaccine or specific anit-viral treatment for coronavirus.
