UP Budget 2018: CM Yogi Adityanath's second full budget had 11.4% increment from the last budget

On Friday, the Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath presented the annual budget of Rs. 4.28 lakh crore. This 2018-19 state budget is 11.4% more as compared to last year's budget, which was 3.84 lakh crore rupees.

The BJP led state government has increased the annual budget proposal with new schemes worth Rs 14, 341.89 crores. The Uttar Pradesh Finance Minister Rajesh Agarwal said, "While 20 new Krishi Kendras were set up in 2017-18, UP produced over 25 lakh tonnes of sugar and we gave 80 lakh tonnes of seeds to sugarcane farmers. We also implemented UPCOCA law last year to deal with crime."

The Finance Minister, Agarwal further added that 5,500 centers will be opened in the coming year to purchase wheat and Rs 100 crore for Chief Minister's Self-Employment scheme.

The annual budget of the state has also framed in order to promote pilgrimage following which the government has announced the establishment of 'Kailash Mansarovar Bhawan' in Ghaziabad, and has allocated over Rs 94 crore for the purpose. The project is scheduled to be completed by this year.

The saffron party-led government has allotted Rs 70 crores for the development of Ramayana, Sufi circuits, and Krishna and Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad is allotted Rs 100 crore.

The state Finance Minister has also announced to turn Lal Bahadur Shastri's Varanasi home into a museum. The amount of Rs 650 crore has been allocated for Bundelkhand Expressway, Rs 550 for Gorakhpur Link Expressway and Rs 1,000 crore for Poorvanchal Expressway, said UP finance minister Rajesh Agarwal. The existing Lucknow-Agra Expressway has been allocated Rs 500 crore.

It was CM Yogi Adityanath's second full budget for the state. It was the first time that a cabinet meeting was called before the budget.
