Udhampur attacker Naved is from Faisalabad, Pakistan: Home Minister Rajnath Singh

Home Minister Rajnath Singh made a statement in the Rajya Sabha today about the Udhampur terrorist attack.

He also informed the Parliament that the two militants who had attacked a Border Security Force convoy on 5 August were from Pakistan. "One of them was killed and other has been captured alive with the help of locals". He said the terrorist who has been captured live has been identified as Mohammad Naved aka Usman Khan.

The Home Minister informed the Upper House that it has emerged from initial interrogation that Naved is from Faisalabad of Pakistan and the other militant who was killed was from Bahawalpur.

Paying homage to the two BSF constables, Subhendu Roy and Rockey who were killed in the attack, he told the House that they would be honoured with gallantry award.

As many as 14 BSF personnel were also injured in the attack. Two heavily armed militants attacked a BSF onvoy in Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir , on the morning of 5 August.
