U'khand CJ transferred on his own request, may be elevated to SC

The transfer of Uttarakhand Chief Justice KM Joseph to Andhra Pradesh merely precedes his probable elevation to the Supreme Court, say SC sources, putting to rest questions about the timing of this transfer given that Justice Joseph had just quashed the imposition of President's Rule in Uttarakhand.

The SC sources also clarified that Justice Joseph had been transferred at his own request because of health problems, according to The Economic Times.

While Justice Joseph may not be promoted to the Supreme Court immediately, his integrity, previous work and seniority make an elevation to the SC probable, say the sources.
