In the wake of the surgical strike unleashed by the Indian Army along the Line of Control (LoC) in retaliation to the Uri attacks, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor congratulated the Army on the feat saying that a strong message has been sent to Pakistan, and lauded the Army's efforts on 29 September.
"I am very proud of the Indian Army, the real message has been sent to Pakistan. Well done," ANI quoted Shashi Tharoor as saying.

"What does Pakistan mean by 'unprovoked'? Killing 18 of our soldiers is not provocation?" Tharoor added, in reaction to Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's statement on the attack, calling it 'naked' and 'unprovoked'.

"Whatever Indian Army did was very sensible, measured & proportionate form of retaliation", Tharoor said.
Tharoor had, earlier in the day, tweeted out a congratulatory message saying that he was proud of the armed forces for their successful strike, and pointed out that the government must ensure that the rest of the world stands in solidarity with India.Proud of our Armed Forces for their successful strike against terrorist launch pads.
